Dr Brenda Bernhardt graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with Great Distinction in 1994. She has worked mixed practice, emergency and small animal practice as a locum, an associate and as a practice owner. In 2000, she established Cowichan Veterinary Services and has seen it through several transformations from a clinic based full service practice to housecall only practice to a holistic pet wellness consulting business. Seeing our pet population failing dramatically, in spite of our 'best' veterinary practices and recognizing the current cancer epidemic, Dr Brenda has retired from regular veterinary practice and has chosen to focus on educating pet guardians near and wide about how to support radical wellness in their 4-legged friends. Addressing the root or origin of pet wellness is the starting place that Dr Brenda moves forward from. She offers telephone consultations focusing on species appropriate nutrition and holistic wellness. Dr Brenda is an keen follower of Hippocrates (450 B.C.) the Father of Medicine, supporting our pet's incredible ability to heal, letting food be their medicine, and above all - not causing harm.
Doesn't that just make sense?
